◆ There are four versions of Mazzer grinder:
1. Manual version
2. Timer version
3. Automatic version
4. Electronic version
If your Mazzer Major is a Manual or Timer version, the doserlees kits can be installed without any modify.
If your Mazzer Major is an Electronic or Automatic version, it need to make a jumper wire attached to the junction strip on the electronic base to bypass the electronic control panel or micro switch.

Here are some methods of making jumpers for reference, but because the wiring version of each area may be different, you may not be able to make jumpers to bypass safety sensor switches or electronic controllers according to the following instructions. If you do not have proper electrical safety knowledge, please do not try to modify it.
If your grinder is an Automatic version, you need to remove the microswitch of the doser & hopper very carefully.
A.The hopper have two red wires attached to the junction strip on the base as indicated A. The switch is normally closed so you need to make a jumper wire to replace the switch as shown:
B.The doser have two grey wires attached to the junction strip on the base. The switch is normally closed so you need to make a jumper wire on the switch as indicated B.
If the two jumpers are completed successfully, turn on the power then the motor will work. Turn off the power then the motor will stop.
If your grinder is an Electronic version, you need to remove the safe switch of the doser and the electronic control panel very carefully.
A.The hopper have two red wires attached to the junction strip on the base as indicated ①. The switch is normally closed so you need to make a jumper wire to replace the safety micro switch as shown.
B.The electronic control panel have green, black, blue, brown four wires attached to the junction strip on the base. You need to make a jumper wire to cross the green and brown wires, and remove the 4 wires as shown as indicated ②.
Please note that if the connect position of the jumper is wrong, it will cause electrical shorts, burn the fuse, and even more serious damage. If you do not have proper electrical safety knowledge, please do not try to modify it.
If the two jumpers are completed successfully, turn on the power then the motor will work. Turn off the power then the motor will stop.
When opening the base, before making the jumper, you can hear a clicking sound when turning off the motor. Therefore, after making the jumper, a clicking sound will still be heard when the motor is turned off. this is normal.

I just cannot express my satisfaction of the kit – it fits perfectly on the grinder and looks stunning. The shiny finish gives the grinder that look of a super heavy duty and expensive machine. The quality is excellent.
And to my surprise everything is so neatly organized in the package that you just cannot go wrong installing it.

I bought a used Major with a doser that had been modified already for low retention + single dosing. Retention was way too high regardless. I attempted to make my own doserless setup but just couldn’t get it right. I was excited when I saw this as an option. Shipping was surprisingly fast given the current situation with COVID-19. Install took maybe a couple of minutes given it was only turning 4 screws (I already had everything off the machine). Looks really great, watch the vids and you’ll learn the tricks to get super low retention. Very pleased with the seller’s communication and excellent craftsmanship. Highly recommend.

Using this mod on my aging Major is a delight. Zero retention and a vastly improved workflow. But you should know that the photos don’t do it justice. It really doesn’t look like an add on, and it’s simply stunning. My only regret is that I wish I’d discovered Daniel’s site a couple of years ago. If you’re single dosing with an unmodified Mazzer, I unreservedly recommend this mod.
